(Grammar) Lengthening the mutes ங், ஞ், ண், ந், ம், ன், வ், ய், ல், ள், ஃ [ng, gn, n, n, m, n, v, y, l, l, q] after one or two short syllables for the sake of metre, as in கண்ண், இலங்ங்கு [kann, ilangngu], the said consonant being doubled in writing, to indicate the prolongation, one of ten cārpeḻuttu, q.v.; குறித்த மெல்லின இடையின மெய்யெழுத்துக்கள் தமக்குறிய மாத்திரையின் மிக் கொலிக்கை [kuritha mellina idaiyina meyyezhuthukkal thamakkuriya mathiraiyin mig kolikkai] (நன்.
