ōḍhaṇēṃ (ओढणें).—v c To pull, draw, drag. 2 To draw (a field), viz. to drag (over a field) an open box or a similar thing, in order to scrape off earth. 3 To draw (lines); or to rule (a paper). 4 To draw;--as a blister, as heat, disease &c. draws (the eyes): to reduce (the body)--sickness, want: to draw (a smoking-pipe &c.): to suck (the breasts): to draw (the udder), to milk: to take (snuff). 5 To force or strain (language beyond its strict signification). ōḍhūna āṇaṇēṃ To draw (one's self) up haughtily or in high self-estimation. 2 To draw or hold (one's self) back hesitatingly. ōḍhūna kāḍhaṇēṃ To strain out; to draw by some farfetched device or thought; to force. ōḍhūna ghēṇēṃ To draw upon one's self (some trouble or evil). ōḍhūna baḷakaṭa karaṇēṃ (To make tight and difficult of solution a knot which was loose or easy.)
