Niyuj (नियुज्).—7 Ā.

1) To appoint, depute, order (with loc.) यन्मां विधेयविषये स भवान्नियुङ्क्ते (yanmāṃ vidheyaviṣaye sa bhavānniyuṅkte) Mālatīmādhava (Bombay) 1.9; असाधुदर्शी तत्रभवान् काश्यपः य इमामाश्रमधर्मे नियुङ्क्ते (asādhudarśī tatrabhavān kāśyapaḥ ya imāmāśramadharme niyuṅkte) Ś.1; Kumārasambhava 3.13; R.5.29.

2) To join, unite, fasten to.

3) To prescribe, ordain.

Niyuj (नियुज्).—[Middle] (A.) fasten or put to ([locative], dhuri = [Simple]); join, put together; bind or attach to, fix or turn upon ([locative] or [dative]); put (a task) upon, commission, elect (2 [accusative]), appoint to, charge with ([accusative] of [person or personal] & [locative] or [dative] of th.; or [locative] of [person or personal] & [accusative] of th.); use, employ.
