Niṣādasthapatinyāya (निषादस्थपतिन्याय).—The rule according to which when a compound expression is capable of being dissolved as a कर्मधारय (karmadhāraya) or a तत्पुरुष (tatpuruṣa), the former is to be preferred to the latter. This is discussed and established by जैमिनि (jaimini) and शबर (śabara) in MS.6.1.51-52 in connection with the expression निषादस्थपति (niṣādasthapati).
