Niṣad (निषद्).—1 P. (niṣīdati &c.)

1) To sit down, lie, recline; उष्णालुः शिशिरे निषीदति तरोर्मूलालवाले शिखी (uṣṇāluḥ śiśire niṣīdati tarormūlālavāle śikhī) V.2.23.

2) To sink down, fail, be disappointed.

3) To dwell.

4) To suffer pain, be afflicted.
