Source: Shodhganga: Dietetics and culinary art in ancient and medieval IndiaNimbuphalapānaka (निम्बुफलपानक) or simply Nimbuphala to a variety of the Pānaka (cool drink), as mentioned in the 17th century Bhojanakutūhala (dravyaguṇāguṇa-kathana), and is commonly found in literature dealing with the topics of dietetics and culinary art, also known as Pākaśāstra or Pākakalā. Pānakas [viz., Nimbuphalapānaka] are cool drinks which are prepared to expel the thirst. Bhojanakutūhala also discuss about the preparation of varieties of pānakas.
(Nimbuphalapānaka ingredients): lemon juice, sugar syrup, cloves and pepper.
(Cooking instructions): Mix one part of lemon juice with six parts of sugar syrup. Add cloves and pepper in powdered form to it. This is called asnimbuphalapānaka.
