Source: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Nilarājiya is the name of a district that existed in the ancient kingdom of Anurādhapura, Ceylon (Sri Lanka).—Nilarājiya district was a sub-division extending over an area close to and north of Anurādhapura. In it were:—(i) Aritagāma; (ii) Kacaka-avuḍakagāma; (iii) Jalagamaka tank donated to Abhayagiri-vihāra: Mahācūlī Mahātissa (B.C. 77-63) built Jālagāma-vihāra, also called Vālagāma; (iv) Citagama; and (v) Gamiṇitisa tank or Gāmaṇivāpi, present Perumiyankulam.
