Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationNijasampad (निजसम्पद्) refers to “one’s entire asset” and is used to describe Anaraṇya, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.33 (“The appeasement of Himavat”).—Accordingly, as Vasiṣṭha said to Himavat (Himācala): “[...] All riches can be sacrificed, O lord of mountains, for the sake of a single entity, but the eternal Śruti has it that one should forsake a single entity for the sake of a unit. When danger was imminent at the hands of a Brahmin, the chief of kings, Anaraṇya, saved his entire asset (nijasampad) by giving his daughter to him. [...]”.
