Nigranthiśira (निग्रन्थिशिर) or Nigranthiśiratā refers to “unhindered veins” and represents the eighth of the “eighty secondary characteristics” (anuvyañjana) as defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 83). The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (eg., nigranthi-śira). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
