Used esp. in the form nēṭūna with other verbs; as nēṭūna cālaṇēṃ-bōlaṇēṃ-dhāvaṇēṃ-jēvaṇēṃ-lihiṇēṃ-pāūsa paḍaṇēṃ- pīka yēṇēṃ-kharca karaṇēṃ &c. 2 To be close at one's heels; to press hard upon; to be imminent or near at hand: also to be urgent upon.
