Source: What is India: Inscriptions of the ŚilāhārasNemaṇa is the name of a person mentioned in the “Herle stone inscription of Gaṇḍarāditya”. Accordingly, “Nemaṇa, an ocean of abundant good qualities—the greatness of whose munificance was, as if, confronting the divine trees, the pride of whose fame was, as if, ever laughing at the brilliance of the clear autumnal sky, the greatness of whose courage was, as if, vying with the lord of the mountains—came to be much honoured by the world”
This stone inscription (mentioning Nemaṇa) was found at Herle, a village, about 11.25 km. west of Hātakaṇangale in the Kolhāpur District. It records the grant of one matter of land in Eḍenāḍa and a garden to the Tīrthaṅkara Chandraprabha in the Basadi. It was made on the occasion of a lunar eclipse in Śaka 1040, when the cyclic year was Vilambi.
The history of India traces the identification of countries, villages, towns and other regions of India, as well as mythology, zoology, royal dynasties, rulers, tribes, local festivities and traditions and regional languages. Ancient India enjoyed religious freedom and encourages the path of Dharma, a concept common to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism.
