內院 [nei yuan]—Inner Court — [Miscellaneous Term] Tusita Heaven (兜率天 [dou lu tian]) has two courts, inner and outer. The Inner Court is named Sudharma Hall (善法堂 [shan fa tang]). 內緣 [nei yuan]—(nèi yuán) — [Term]
1. When the five consciousnesses (五識 [wu shi]), such as eye consciousness, take external objects (外境 [wai jing]) like forms as their external condition (外緣 [wai yuan]), the mind consciousness (意識 [yi shi]) discriminating various phenomena within the mind (心內 [xin nei]) is considered an internal condition.
2. Alternatively, distant causes (緣由 [yuan you]) are referred to as external conditions (外緣 [wai yuan]), while close causes are referred to as internal conditions.
內緣—【術語】眼等之五識緣色等外境為外緣，意識於心內分別諸法為內緣。又疏遠之緣由為外緣，親近之緣由為內緣。

From the Prologue of Zhongyi Shuihu Zhuan 《忠義水滸傳 [zhong yi shui hu chuan]》 (Water Margin): "The imperial decree ordered them to enter the Neiyuan 《》 to attend to the Crown Prince."
