Navilu (ನವಿಲು):—

1) [noun] the large bird Pavo cristatus of Phasianidae family, with a tuft on the head, with blue feathers, male of which has long, attractive tail (each feather having an eye-like spot), the female has a relatively short tail, domesticated as an ornamental bird; Indian peafowl or peacock.

2) [noun] ನವಿಲನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕೆಂಬೂತ ಪುಕ್ಕ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿತು [navilannu nodi kembuta pukka teredukomditu] navilannu nōḍi kembūta pukka teredukoṇḍitu (prov.) (suggested meaning) be what you are and not imitate others; a mouse must not think to cast a shadow like an elephant.
