nasatā (नसता).—p pr of nasaṇēṃ Not existent, extant, or present: also not real, actual, subsisting, standing. Ex. sadā karitō ḍhavāḷī || nasatīca ghēūna yētō kaḷī ||; also īśvara hōtāṃ pāṭhamōrā || nasatīñca vighnēṃ yētīṃ gharā ||. 2 Uncalled for; undemanded or unwarranted by any occasion; as na0 kārabhāra Meddling; idle fingering or pawing; fiddle faddle; na0 kharca Uncalled for expense; na0 upadrava Trouble undeserved, or unincurred by one's own act. 2 Unprofitable; as na0 udyōga-dhandā-vyavahāra-vyāpāra. 3 Used jocosely in the vocative (arē nasatyā ho! Mr. Nobody, ho! arē nasatyā guḍaguḍī bharūna āṇa rāva basalē āhēta) when a poor and mean man is boasting to his visitors of his wealth and numerous attendants. 4 p a Penniless, i. e. to whom there is not. Pr. asatyācē vikāra nasatyācē ghōraṅkāra.
