Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarNañtatpuruṣa (नञ्तत्पुरुष).—A compound with न (na) as its first member which is changed into अ (a) or अन् (an), or remains unchanged, the indeclinable न (na) (नञ् (nañ)) possessing any one of the six senses given above under न (na) (6); e. g अब्राह्मणः, अनश्वः, नमुचिः (abrāhmaṇaḥ, anaśvaḥ, namuciḥ) etc.; cf. P. VI. 3 73-77.
