Source: Wisdom Library: Maha Prajnaparamita SastraNandaśrī (नन्दश्री) is the name of the Buddha of the Nandā universe according to the 2nd century Mahāprajñāpāramitāśāstra (chapter XV). Accordingly, “In the region of the zenith (upariṣṭāt), beyond universes as numerous as the sands of the Ganges and at the extreme limit of these universes, there is the universe called Hi (Nandā); its Buddha is called Hi tö (Nandaśrī) and its Bodhisattva Tö hi (Nandadatta)”.
Mahayana (महायान, mahāyāna) is a major branch of Buddhism focusing on the path of a Bodhisattva (spiritual aspirants/ enlightened beings). Extant literature is vast and primarely composed in the Sanskrit language. There are many sūtras of which some of the earliest are the various Prajñāpāramitā sūtras.
