Nakṣatrasūcaka (नक्षत्रसूचक).—a bad astrologer; तिथ्युत्पत्तिं न जानन्ति ग्रहाणां नैव साधनम् । परवाक्येन वर्तन्ते ते वै नक्षत्रसूचकाः (tithyutpattiṃ na jānanti grahāṇāṃ naiva sādhanam | paravākyena vartante te vai nakṣatrasūcakāḥ) || or अविदित्वैव यः शास्त्रं दैवज्ञत्वं प्रपद्यते । स पङ्क्तिदूषकः पापो ज्ञेयो नक्षत्रसूचकः (aviditvaiva yaḥ śāstraṃ daivajñatvaṃ prapadyate | sa paṅktidūṣakaḥ pāpo jñeyo nakṣatrasūcakaḥ) || Bṛ. S.2.17,18.
