Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationNagaśreṣṭha (नगश्रेष्ठ) refers to the “best of mountains” and is used to describe Himācala (Himavat), according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.8.—Accordingly, Nārada said to Himavat:—“[..] Performing a penance she will fascinate Śiva’s mind towards herself. He too will marry none else except her. A love akin to this pair will not be found anywhere. Never in the past was it seen nor will it occur in future. Nor it is current now. O best of mountains [i.e., nagaśreṣṭha], the two will fulfil the work of the gods. They will resuscitate those who have breathed their last. [...]”.
