Any offspring of; a (man, beast, plant,) sprung from. 2 The main root (of a tree or plant), taproot. 3 Roots and radicles collectively. 4 Any root, i. e. any certain plant of the field or garden as antecedent to a plant designated and as affecting the soil (by exhaustion or replenishment) with respect to it. Ex. miracyāṃ- cā mu0 vāīṭa tāgācā mu0 kōṇatyā pikācā cāṅgalā. (As at home Wheat and turnips.)
