Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationMuktikāma (मुक्तिकाम) refers to “person desiring salvation”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.1.14:—“[...] for achieving glory with plenty of vehicles, worship for a thousand times shall be performed. A person desiring salvation (muktikāma) shall worship Śiva five crores of times with deep devotion”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
