The ordinary practitioner of the pattapisoika dhutayga can break all the foodstuffs that are in his bowl (or plate...) by means of an hand or teeth (except, for a bhikkhu, foodstuffs that the sekhiya 45 doesn authorise to break by means of teeth). Such a practitioner is called a "pattayogi", which means "an individual utilising a bowl".
