Mousikanos appears to be a territorial title, as Curtus calls the people Musicani. Lassen takes this to represent the Sanskrit Mushika (a mouse or thief) and thinks that the Mushika still exist in the great tribe of the Magsi or Magassi Biloch, some of whom are still to be found in the Mianwáli District and who form the bulk of the population of Kach Gandáva.
