Source: HereNow4u: Lord Śrī MahāvīraMosaligrāma (मोसलिग्राम) or simply Mosali is the name of a village visited by Mahāvīra during his eleventh year of spiritual-exertion.—From Bālukā he arrived at places such as Suyoga, Succhetā, Malabha, Hastiśīrṣa, etc. Saṅgama created calamities at every place. At ‘Tosaligrāma’ and ‘Mosaligrāma’ in the disguise of an ascetic, he would steal and when caught, would accuse the Lord, calling him his teacher. The magician Mahābhūtila in Tosali village and a regional official in Mosali village introduced the Lord and saved him.
Jainism is an Indian religion of Dharma whose doctrine revolves around harmlessness (ahimsa) towards every living being. The two major branches (Digambara and Svetambara) of Jainism stimulate self-control (or, shramana, ‘self-reliance’) and spiritual development through a path of peace for the soul to progess to the ultimate goal.
