Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationMohinīrūpa (मोहिनीरूप) refers to the “form of an enchantress”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.4.9 (“Boasting of Tāraka”).—Accordingly, as Tāraka-Asura said to the Gods: “[...] The Asuras Madhu and Kaiṭabha were beheaded by his roguishness. He forsook the Vedic path. When the gods and Asuras sat for drinking the nectar it was he who violated the sanctity of the vows when he assumed the form of an enchantress (mohinīrūpa) [mohinīrūpato'nena]. Thus he slighted the Vedic path. [...]”.
