摸骨 [mō gǔ] [mo gu]—
A type of physiognomy (相術 [xiang shu]) that predicts one's fate (命運 [ming yun]) by touching a person's bones (骨骼 [gu ge]). This is also known as "bone touching". For example: "When he encountered misfortune, he went to someone for bone-touching fortune-telling (算命 [suan ming])." Song (宋 [song]) Dynasty. Li Liuqian (李流謙 [li liu qian])'s poem "To the Listening to Sound Officer Sorcerer" (贈聽聲丄官術士 [zeng ting sheng shang guan shu shi]) says: "Bone touching and listening to sound (聽聲 [ting sheng]), within these, there are even more extraordinary (奇特 [qi te]) things." Qing (清 [qing]) Dynasty. Xu Ke (徐珂 [xu ke])'s "Qing Bai Lei Chao" (清稗類鈔 [qing bai lei chao]), "Category of Techniques" (方技類 [fang ji lei]), "Feeling Bones, Listening to Sounds, Touching Tablets" (揣骨聽聲摸笏 [chuai gu ting sheng mo hu]): "During the Tang (唐 [tang]) Dynasty, there was a blind man named Long Fu (龍復 [long fu]) who used feeling bones (揣骨 [chuai gu]), listening to sounds (聽聲 [ting sheng]), and touching tablets (摸笏 [mo hu]) to judge people's fortunes (判人休咎 [pan ren xiu jiu]) and determine their destinies (定人祿命 [ding ren lu ming]). After a long time, the method of touching tablets (摸笏 [mo hu]) was lost (失傳 [shi chuan]), and the blind man could only perform bone touching and listening to sounds (聽聲 [ting sheng])."

摩姑 [mó gū] [mo gu]—
1.Figuratively describes deliberately pestering endlessly (纠缠不清 [jiu chan bu qing]) or procrastinating/delaying time (拖延时间 [tuo yan shi jian]). For example: "He kept (mógū) endlessly about this matter." Also written as 蘑菇 [mo gu] (mógū).

蘑菇 [mó gū] [mo gu]—
1. A plant name. Family 香蕈科 [xiang xun ke] (xiāngxùn kē), genus 香蕈屬 [xiang xun shu] (xiāngxùn shǔ). A fungus that mostly grows on dead tree trunks, with a small stalk and a large cap, thick in texture, delicious in taste, and edible; various types exist. Also known as 「摩姑 [mo gu] (mógū)」, 「磨菇 [mo gu] (mógū)」, and 「蘑菰 [mo gu] (mógū)」.
2. A metaphor for deliberately getting entangled or procrastinating. For example: "別 [bie](Bié mógū), I'm very busy." (Meaning: Don't dawdle/procrastinate, I'm very busy.) Also written as 「摩姑 [mo gu] (mógū)」 and 「磨咕 [mo gu] (mógū)」.
