Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarymōdaḷā (मोदळा).—m In spinning or weaving. A common term for the two lumps of earth, the sockets together of the four stakes around which the thread is wound off the pāṭa or civata. 2 (Commonly mōdhaḷā) A large and loose bundle (as of straw or chaff), a truss. Applied figuratively to a big, burly, unwieldy, loose-made fellow; or to some bulky and cumbering thing; a lump. 3 A lump or mass (as of earth). Ex. pūjitāṃ mātīcā mō0 || kaulika pāvalā īśvarakaḷā ||.
