滅盡三昧 [mie jin san mei]—Extinction Samādhi—[Term] Also called Extinction Concentration (滅盡定 [mie jin ding]). It is a meditative absorption (禪定 [chan ding]) in which the six consciousnesses (六識 [liu shi]) and mental factors (心心所 [xin xin suo]) are extinguished. See the entry for Extinction Concentration. The Sūtra of Immeasurable Life (無量壽經 [wu liang shou jing]) states: "When the wind touches their bodies, they all attain joy, just like a bhikkhu (比丘 [bi qiu]) who has attained Extinction Samādhi." 滅盡三昧—【術語】又曰滅盡定。滅盡六識心心所之禪定也。見滅盡定條。無量壽經下曰:「風觸其身,皆得快樂。譬如比丘得滅盡三昧。」(滅盡定)
