Source: Asian Agri-History: Drumavichitrikaranam—The Ancient Approach to Plant MutagenesisMethane refers to one of the prominent Greenhouse Gases, which could be reduced by adhering to the principles of ancient Indian agriculture, which presents a safe technology and methodology regarding organic agriculture and plant mutagenesis (druma-vichitrikaranam), according to treatises (such as the Vrikshayurveda).—Greenhouse gases have been identified as one of the major causes of global warming. One of the prominent greenhouse gases is methane which is released by animals. Genetically modified forages are able to prevent/reduce the formation of methane. Forage crops also need to be modified to contain more phytase so that phosphorus discharge is also reduced.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
