Meṃhadī (मेंहदी) [Also spelled mehandi]:—(nf) myrtle (the leaves of this shrub are powdered and the powder when soaked in water over a period leaves red stain on application on the palms, feet etc. and is used as such by Indian women); —[racānā] to decorate the palms and feet with myrtle powder; to walk to slow (like a woman).
