Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarymāyapōṭa (मायपोट).—n (Mother's womb.) A term for any place of great peacefulness and security; an asylum, refuge, hiding place, haven. The term is also prefixed freely, as to such words as dēva, rājā, dhanī, lōka, rājya, dēśa, gāṃva, ṭhikāṇā, in the sense of Sheltering or protecting; also to such words as gāya, ghōḍā, hattī &c., imparting the idea of Mildness or inoffensiveness.
