Mayāṉavairākkiyam (மயானவைராக்கியம்) [mayāṉa-vairākkiyam] noun < idem. +.

1. Temporary dislike of the world, on realising the evanescence of the body at the sight of a burial-ground, one of three vairākkiyam, q.v.; மயானத்தைக் கண்ட தும் தேகம் அநித்தமென்று தாற்காலிகமாகத் தோன் றும் பற்றின்மை. [mayanathaig kanda thum thegam anithamenru tharkaligamagath thon rum parrinmai.]

2. Pledge of fidelity till death, given by a bride or bridegroom; இறக்கும்வரை பரஸ்பரம் உண்மையாய் நடந்துகொள்வதாக வதூ வரர் கூறும் உறுதிமொழி. [irakkumvarai parasparam unmaiyay nadanthugolvathaga vathu varar kurum uruthimozhi.] (W.)
