Marmavijñāna (मर्मविज्ञान) refers to “orthopedics” and is dealt with in Ayurvedic literature.—Kerala has a rich tradition in Ayurveda, especially in Pañcakarma treatment. Apart from this, there are certain other branches of Āyurveda which were popular and well developed [viz., Marmavijñāna or ‘orthopedics’]. Enough literature is available on these subjects in Malayalam language.
