滿荼 [man tu]—maṇḍa, solid, the diamond throne.

Source: archive.org: A Dictionary Of Chinese Buddhist Terms

[The following represents an unverified English translation. For all purposes consult the original Chinese text.]

滿荼 [man tu]—Maṇḍa — [Miscellaneous Term] Maṇḍa is translated as "firm" or "solid" (堅固 [jian gu]). It is another name for the Vajrāsana (金剛座 [jin gang zuo]).

Commentary on the Mahāvairocana Sūtra (大日經疏 [da ri jing shu]), Volume 12, states: "At that time, all the Vajra Bodhisattvas were able to manifest the Bodhi Seat. This seat, in the worldly sense, merely refers to a place to sit. However, in the West [India], this seat is called Maṇḍa. Maṇḍa means firmness (堅固 [jian gu]), immobility (不動 [bu dong]), having no equal or comparison (更無等比 [geng wu deng bi]), and pervading the entire Dharma-realm (徧周法界 [bian zhou fa jie]). The current manifestation of this Bodhi Seat is like butter (蘇 [su]) appearing from curd (酪 [lao]); all flavors gather in one place without separating from each other."

滿荼—【雜語】Maṇḍa,譯曰堅固。金剛座之異名。大日經疏十二曰:「爾時諸金剛菩薩,即能現菩提座也。此座但以世間意說但座處耳,然西方名此座為滿荼。滿荼者是堅固義,不動義,是更無等比義,是徧周法界義。今現此菩提座,亦如酪中現蘇,諸味共會一處,而不相離。」

[zá yǔ]Maṇḍa, yì yuē jiān gù. jīn gāng zuò zhī yì míng. dà rì jīng shū shí èr yuē: “ěr shí zhū jīn gāng pú sà, jí néng xiàn pú tí zuò yě. cǐ zuò dàn yǐ shì jiān yì shuō dàn zuò chù ěr, rán xī fāng míng cǐ zuò wèi mǎn tú. mǎn tú zhě shì jiān gù yì, bù dòng yì, shì gèng wú děng bǐ yì, shì biàn zhōu fǎ jiè yì. jīn xiàn cǐ pú tí zuò, yì rú lào zhōng xiàn sū, zhū wèi gòng huì yī chù, ér bù xiāng lí.”
