Source: Shodhganga: New look on the kushan bengaliMangalkot in Burdwan district is an excavated site revealing Kushan presence.—One of the most important site with Kushan characteristics is Mangalkot, located on 23°33' north and 87°55' east, on the confluence of river Ajay and Kunur in the Burdwan district of west Bengal, the site was excavated by the Department of Archaeology, University of Calcutta for four consequitive season from 1986 to 1991 under the supervision of Dr. Chitrarekha Gupta, Prof.Amita Ray and Prof. Samir. Mukherjee.
