Source: Shodhganga: New look on the kushan bengaliMandirtala in South 24 Paragana district is an explored site revealing Kushan presence.—The site is located on 21°49' north latitude and 88°06' east longitude in the south 24 pargana of lower bengal has yielded early historic pottery, terracotta figurines, semi precious stone beads through exploration. According to some scholars this site was a bead manufacturing centers in the lower Bengal in the early part of the Christian era as a large number finished and unfinished beads along with raw materials of bead making has be recovered from here. Some of the terracotta figurines from Mandirtala has close affinity in execution and dress with Kushan s.
