Maṇḍapapratiṣṭhā (मण्डपप्रतिष्ठा) refers to the “consecration of the temple pavilions”, as discussed in chapter 21 of the Puruṣottamasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text consisting of more than 1800 verses devoted to temple-building and the practical concerns of the Pāñcarātra priestly community.—Description of the chapter [vimāna-gopura-maṇḍapa-ādi-pratiṣṭhā]: Bhagavān says he will now tell how to consecrate the structural buildings in a temple. The details for consecrating the vimāna are first outlined (1-15); the same is then outlined for maṇḍapas [e.g., maṇḍapapratiṣṭhā] (15-23) , and then also collectively for rathas, vāhanas, dvāras, gopuras etc. (24-34). The remainder of the chapter deals with sudarśana-consecration (35-58).
