maḷamaḷīta (मळमळीत).—a (Imit.) Swashy, sloppy, wishywashy--a preparation of victuals: watery and weak--a fruit: simple, silly, soft--a person: vapid, spiritless, nerveless--singing, reciting, speech, conduct: dull, dim, dirty-looking, lacklustre--a metal vessel, a weapon or tool: slovenly and nasty; or slack, careless, and disorderly--an object or a manner of working or doing. Much use is made of the word, and in applications implying in the general opposition to Substantial, savory, salty, spirited, sprightly, smart, spruce, prompt, vigorous, energetic &c. &c.
