Mahāvyūha (महाव्यूह).—(1) name of two former Buddhas: Lalitavistara 172.4 (verse; m.c. °viyūha); Sukhāvatīvyūha 6.10; (2) name of a Bodhi- sattva: Śatasāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā 7.7; (3) name of one of the 16 gods who guard the bodhimaṇḍa: Lalitavistara 277.14; (4) name of the kalpa in which Kāśyapa is predicted to become a Buddha: Saddharmapuṇḍarīka 144.5; (5) name of a samādhi: Mahāvyutpatti 613; Śatasāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā 1425.10.
