Mahanad in Hooghly district is an explored site revealing Kushan presence.—Located on 22°59' north latitude and 88°15' east longitude, the village Mahanad lies in the Hooghly district. The exploration conducted by A.S.I and Paresh Pal, a local antiquarian have affected discovery of gold coins of Kushan and Gupta dynasties and terracotta mostly of Gupta style (Chattopadhya, 2005).
