māgalaṭa (मागलट).—f (māgēṃ & lōṭaṇēṃ) Retreating, receding, drawing back (from a danger, an engagement). v ghē. 2 (Mostly used in oblique cases.) Backwardness; unfinished, unaccomplished, or unready state (after the lapse of the due period); the back ground. v paḍa, ṭāka. Ex. malā dukhaṇēṃ ālēṃ mhaṇūna śēta māgalaṭīsa paḍalēṃ; rājā mājhī gōṣṭa aikata hōtā paṇa kōṇhī mōṭhā ālā mhaṇūna māgalaṭīsa paḍalī. 3 W Trace, track, vestige. māgalaṭīvara ṭākaṇēṃ To defer, or to perform so sluggishly, that it falls behind hand (a work or business).
