maḍēṃ (मडें).—n A corpse. Pr. kēśa upaṭalyānēṃ kāya maḍēṃ halakēṃ hōtēṃ Applied to relief or help inappreciably little. maḍyācyā tāḷavyācēṃ lōṇī khāṇārā A term for a sordidly covetous or penurious person. maḍyāvara pāya dēūna (-jāṇēṃ-karaṇēṃ- &c.) To leave even a dying person (in order to go upon or to do some urgent matter). mēlēṃ maḍēṃ āgīlā bhīta nāhīṃ (A corpse dreads not the funereal fire.) Used of a callous and incorrigible person.
