Māheśvaraṃvrata (माहेश्वरंव्रत).—(Śivacaturdaśi): revealed by Nandi to Nārada; to be begun on the 13th day of the bright half of Mārgaśīrṣa in honour of Śaṅkara; details of the worship on the next day; a gold cow and calf to be offered as present to a sāmaga or other śrotriya; ladies who perform this with permission from husband go to the world of Pinākini.*
