M.Bh. on P.I. 2.4, I.2.12, II.4. 77 etc.) for such roots as have their Vikaraṇa (conjugational sign) dropped by a rule with the mention of the word लुक् (luk); e.g. the roots of the second conjugation as contrasted with other roots; cf. लुग्विकरणालु-ग्विकरणयोरलुग्विकरणस्य (lugvikaraṇālu-gvikaraṇayoralugvikaraṇasya) Par.Śek. Pari.90.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
