六身 [liu shen]—Six Bodies—[Buddhist Terminology] (名數 [ming shu]) As stated in the newly translated Sutra of Contemplation on the Mind Ground (心地觀經 [xin de guan jing]):
1. Dharma-body of Principle (理法身 [li fa shen]): The inherent principle.
2. Dharma-body of Wisdom (智法身 [zhi fa shen]): The wisdom of inherent virtue.
3. Self-Enjoyment Body (自受用身 [zi shou yong shen]): The body that, through the four wisdoms perfected by cultivation, constantly resides in the reward-land and enjoys the bliss of Dharma.
4. Other-Enjoyment Body (他受用身 [ta shou yong shen]): The body that manifests ten kinds of bodies for Bodhisattvas of the ten stages, enabling others to benefit from one's own karmic reward.
5. Superior Transformation Body (勝應身 [sheng ying shen]): The transformation body manifested for Bodhisattvas who have not yet reached the stages.
6. Inferior Transformation Body (劣應身 [lie ying shen]): The body manifested for followers of the Two Vehicles and ordinary beings, specifically the sixteen-foot manifested Buddha.
The first two bodies mentioned above are the Dharma-body (法身 [fa shen]), the middle two are the Reward-body (報身 [bao shen]), and the last two are the Transformation-body (應身 [ying shen]).
[Buddhist Terminology] The Sutra of Contemplation on the Mind Ground states that the three—Dharma, Reward, and Transformation bodies—each have two bodies, totaling six bodies. See entry for Buddha Body (佛身 [fu shen]).
