耒耨之教 [lěi nòu zhī jiào] [lei nou zhi jiao]—
To impart agricultural farming (農業耕作 [nong ye geng zuo]) techniques (技術 [ji shu]). From Ming (明 [ming]) Dynasty. Xu Guangqi's (徐光啟 [xu guang qi]) Complete Treatise on Agricultural Administration (《農政全書 [nong zheng quan shu]》), Volume 3, "Fundamentals of Agriculture," "Examination of the National Dynasty's Emphasis on Agriculture": "In the past, the Yellow Emperor (黃帝 [huang di]) divided land using the well-field system (畫井分疆 [hua jing fen jiang]), following the teachings of Shennong (神農 [shen nong]) regarding farming (耒耨 [lei nou]), guiding the common people to their benefit, valuing agriculture (稼穡 [jia se]) as treasure. This is where it all originated."
耒耨之教:傳授農業耕作的技術。明.徐光啟《農政全書.卷三.農本.國朝重農考》:「昔黃帝畫井分疆,依神農耒耨之教,導生民之利,稼穡為寶,所從來矣。」
