Lāpika (लापिक).—(-lāpika), adj. (= Sanskrit -lāpin plus -ka), talking, in manuṣya-lāpiko śuko Mahāvastu i.271.13 (prose), a parrot talking in human speech; so mss.; Senart °ṣyālāpiko, because of the parallel °ṣyālāpino (Sanskrit ālāpin) i.274.3, which perhaps justifies the em.; yet Sanskrit has -lāpin.
