From the Book of Han (漢書 [han shu]), Volume 90 (卷九 [juan jiu]○), Biography of Cruel Officials (酷吏傳 [ku li chuan]), Biography of Tian Yannian (田延年傳 [tian yan nian chuan]): "How can I bear to enter prison, making everyone (眾人 [zhong ren]) point and laugh at me, and commoners/rascals (卒徒 [zu tu]) spit on my back?!"
