老蒼頭 [lǎo cāng tóu] [lao cang tou]—
An old person (老人 [lao ren]), whose hair (髮 [fa]) has turned white (蒼白 [cang bai]) due to old age (年老 [nian lao]). It often refers to an old male servant. From The Travels of Lao Can (《老殘遊記 [lao can you ji]》), Chapter Nine (第九回 [di jiu hui]): "That (lǎo cāng tóu) came in and asked the young lady (姑娘 [gu niang]): 'Where should Master Shen's (申老爺 [shen lao ye]) luggage (行李 [xing li]) be placed?'" Also written as "老蒼 [lao cang]" (lǎo cāng).
老蒼頭:老人,因年老而髮蒼白。《老殘遊記》第九回:「那老蒼頭進來問姑娘道:『申老爺行李放在什麼地方呢?』」也作「老蒼」。
lǎo cāng tóu: lǎo rén, yīn nián lǎo ér fà cāng bái. < lǎo cán yóu jì> dì jiǔ huí: “nà lǎo cāng tóu jìn lái wèn gū niáng dào: ‘shēn lǎo yé xíng lǐ fàng zài shén me de fāng ne?’ ” yě zuò “lǎo cāng” .
