1) [noun] a heavy object, usu. a shaped iron weight with flukes, lowered by cable or chain to the bottom of a body of water to keep a ship or boat from drifting; an anchor.
2) [noun] ಲಂಗರು ಎತ್ತು [lamgaru ettu] langaru ettu to take out the anchor as to move the ship; to start a ship; ಲಂಗರು ಬಿಡು [lamgaru bidu] langaru biḍu = ಲಂಗರುಹಾಕು [lamgaruhaku]; ಲಂಗರುಹಾಕು [lamgaruhaku] langaru hāku to lower the anchor overboard so as to keep from drifting; to station a ship.
