lāgīra (लागीर).—a (lāgaṇēṃ) Worm-eaten. 2 Susceptible of being worm-eaten;--used of certain timbers or grain. 3 Susceptible of corruption, damage, injury, taint; and hence used improperly (for lāgalēlā) in the sense Corrupted, damaged, tainted, evil-affected. 4 Affected with demoniac possession or influence, touched, hit. 5 Attached or adhering to. 6 Having narcotic quality. 7 That affects with any evil-influence. 8 That fixes himself in the affections of; that attaches himself fondly and forces love. lā0 hōṇēṃ To take effect; to come on;--used esp. of demoniac visitation or influence.
